How to Return or Exchange an Item at Oakley

Oakley is a sunglasses company that started out selling just fashion and sport sunglasses. Today the company carries an entire line of clothing and accessories with the Oakley logo. There are dedicated Oakley stores and a complete online store where customers can purchase Oakley merchandise.

Returning an Item

Returning an item in store: If you purchased an Oakley item in an Oakley store, you can return that item with your receipt within 45 days of purchase. If the item shows excess wear Oakley will not accept returns at any time. Personalized items are also not eligible for return. You can find a local Oakley store on the store location page here http://www.oakley.com/dealers. Some stores will carry the Oakley name and others are licensed affiliates. You may not be able to return an Oakley item to a store other than the one where you purchased the merchandise.

Return an item online: You have 45 days to return purchases unless they are part of the wearable electronics line, then you have only 15 days to return the purchase. You must call the customer service department at 1-800-403-7449 to request an RA (return authorization) number. You will need your packing slip when calling because the representative will need information from the slip to issue the RA.

Pack the items in a box with the original packaging whenever possible. Place the packing slip in the box (make a copy for yourself before placing the original in the box.) Write the RA number on the package. Return the item using a traceable means of shipping. Oakley is not responsible for lost items and they will not pay for your return shipping and handling.

When returning clothing or accessories of any kind – send the package to:

Again, write the RA number on the outside of the box.

Official Oakley Return Policy

Oakley lists the full return policy details on the Oakley Return page at http://www.oakley.com/customer-care/returns. The details state that an RA number is required for all returns. Returns must be received within 45 days of purchase or 15 days of purchase for electronics. Oakley will charge a 10-percent fee for restocking the merchandise. Other fees may be charged if the merchandise is worn or if the original packaging is missing.

We called the customer service department for Oakley at 1-800-403-7449. An automated response answered the call. We were given a list of options to choose from – a return is option #3. We were then asked what we wanted to return – #1 for watches and #2 for everything else. We chose #2 and we were immediately connected with an Oakley representative. We asked for the return address for backpacks and we were given the Ontario address without being asked our order number.
