How to Return or Exchange an Item at Adidas

Adidas is a shoe company that specializes in sports shoes and apparel. Athletes in basketball, football, track & field and tennis, among other sports, can find a pair of Adidas to fit their sporting needs both online and in stores. The return policy explains how to return items both in store and online.

Returning an Item

Return your items to an Adidas store: If you made an Adidas purchase in a store, take the original receipt with the item(s) back to the store. accepts returns for items purchased online only and there is no mention of Adidas stores accepting returns for online purchases. Adidas stores will not accept returns for Adidas shoes purchased at another retailer unless the shoes are defective and the retailer will not accept the return.

Return your items to Adidas by mail: Place all items in original condition back into the box and fill out any impertinent information on the packing slip or invoice. Address the package to the Adidas returns address below. Adidas suggests using a mailing company that allows you to track the package. If the package is not trackable and it is lost in transit, Adidas is not responsible for the loss.

Official Adidas Return Policy

Customers have 60 days from purchase to return items to an Adidas store or by mail. Adidas stores may allow returns after 60 days on defective merchandise. Retailers that sell Adidas shoes and equipment are not bound by the Adidas return policy, but if shoes are found to be defective and the retailer will not accept the return – within two years of purchase– contact Adidas at 1-800-448-1796.

Contacting customer service requires finding the appropriate Adidas department. Listed on the contact page here are more than 10 departments in the Adidas company. The main customer service phone number for is 1-800-982-9337. You have to press #2 and then #2 again to talk with a representative about a current order you’d like to return. If you are calling for a Return Authorization for a product purchased at a retailer other than, press #4. We talked with Jillian about a Return Authorization for a pair of shoes we ordered that the retailer wanted to charge return shipping for and she helped us through the process without question; though we were told we would have to return the items to the retailer where the shoes were purchased.

I am very disappointed in the returns on adidas on line return I have return some shoes my son receive for a birthday present in January that was too big. and I returned for the correct size but, I have not heard a word from this company if they received the shoes if they will refund, or exchange. nothing. Its as if they was sent back into galaxy somewhere .


  3. The adidas return service, is the most horrible , ancient method I have ever encoutnered. I will never use this company to order anything, no matter the sale. All the sizes were terrible wither to big or to small. so very very disappointed.

  5. Very misguiding,and complicated. First of all your invoice shows, call us anytime 24/7 customer service rep. and the operator says “Our office is currently closed”
    That really sucks for a company as big as Adidas.
    Now, I want to exchange a pair of Adidas shoes that I just received via UPS, MUST I ship it back to you or is it possible to exchange it at a local Adidas vendor like Finish Line.

    • I am returning size too big, this is a xmas present, would like to reorder the correct size, however, there are no instructions on exchanges? Must I return first, wait for credit and then re-order? Time is of essence.

  6. I am really disappointed. Adidas sent me some baby shoes and it’s hard to get a label. This is my last time ordering from adidas

  7. Return policy hopeless no one to answer ur call for return policy. But when u call to order something they are ready anytime.

  8. Shoes run large. Information given for returns is vague. When you go to the address given for return, it does not give you any info to return. They do not send a return label with your order and expect you to print it out which is inconvenient.

  9. Why is it taken so long for my refund? I’ve returned the product weeks ago & I still have not gotten back my refund…. Do NOT ORDER their products online! Horrible time trying to get your money back….

  10. Still have not received my refund credit. Tracking showed my return was received on January 13 and it is February 12. Terrible time getting my credit!!!

  12. Ordered a pair of shoes online and was then told the order could not be placed. I have no idea when my refund will come. Also placed another order yesterday morning and I have yet to see an order confirmation but the money has been taken out. I still have not been able to reach an actual human being that can help me figure this out

  13. DO NOT order from Adidas online.
    Have been waiting 6 days and 3 phone calls later for them to email a postage paid return label since they do not send one in the box. Also, went to their website and it does offer a return link but guess what…. it does not work. All it does is track your package and never takes you to a return form or label.
    Have started a claim with the BBB. has a C- rating on BBB. It should be a F for complete failure.

  14. What a horror show. Expect a minimum wait of at least 20 minutes to speak with someone on the phone. On November 6, as you can see from the comment above, the link for returns did not work. On December 15, it still does not work. Their ability to TAKE your money works fine though. This is unacceptable for a company of their size. I was told that I might have to wait as long as 5 business days for them to issue me a return label via email. God only knows how long it will take them to refund my money once I get the label. Not impressed. Will never purchase online from them again.

  15. I purchased a clothes that was too big ,try to print a label n return it ,just like the above said ,the links is not working,even January 4th now,this is my frist time make a order on line ,also try calling,but always nobody answers,bad experience,

  16. I agree with Ken. You are not a user friendly site. Been trying to get a return label for a half an hour not possible.

    You have been successful in ticking our customer off making your site NOT user friendly. Don’t want to deal with you again.


  17. Went to the site for returns only to receive a message saying “Oops! This site is not available because of maintenance”! When I ordered the sneakers I neglected to put the discount code in. I immediately called Customer Service & waited on the phone for over 40 minutes to speak with someone to cancel the order and never got anyone to answer!!! What! So then I ordered the sneakers again using the discount code because I want them for a Christmas gift. Now I can’t get to the site to print out a return label so that I can send back the first pair! Will NEVER order from here again! From what I read I will also have a hard time getting my refund!

  18. still waiting on my refund. it has been over 2 months and you guys told me it will be returned its up to my bank. My bank stated they have yet to receive a refund.

  19. Never and had so much difficulty to make a RETURN this is ridiculous they love to make life so complicated for the customers now I have to drive away to look for a ADIDAS closest to ME… I WILL NEVER ORDER FRON THE ADIDAS WEB AGAIN…

  20. I Order small leggings for women but they send me leggings for kids, just like , wtf , and now trying to return my item an i dont have any store here.. Its BS

  21. I ordered a boot, but it was too small and I’ve been trying to print a return label for almost 24 hrs now! I’m yet to print it!!!!! It keeps saying “oops the label is currently unavailable”… is adidas some kind of scam?!!
