How to Return or Exchange an Item at DSW
DSW, or Designer Shoe Warehouse, is a huge shoe store with physical locations and a massive website. DSW sells shoes for kids, men and women at lower retail prices than other companies. The company also offers some accessories, including handbags and socks. Customers can choose to return orders either by mail or to the nearest DSW store.
Returning an Item
Returning an item to a DSW store: Take your unworn merchandise back to any DSW store (find a nearby store at http://www.dsw.com/dsw-shoes-locations/) for an immediate credit. You must bring the receipt or the original packing slip with you to the store. The original packaging for the shoes or other item must also be available at the time of the return. You must return the items within 60 days of purchase to receive a refund. If the 60 days have passed, DSW will still accept the return, but you will be issued store credit.
Returning an item by mail: Pack all items back into the original box or a new box. Fill out the return page on the invoice included with your package. Indicate whether you wish to have a refund or an exchange. If you want to exchange the item, indicate the size, color or other details about the replacement. You will notice a refund on your credit card for the refund and a new charge for the exchange order. If you received your DSW item as a gift, you can exchange the item as desired. If there is a price difference and you are owed a credit, you will receive a store credit for the difference.
After packing the box, place the pre-paid FedEx label on the outside of the box or ship the box using a carrier of your choice to the returns address.

The official policy for DSW returns is available on the returns page at http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/customer_service/index.jsp?content=cs_returns. DSW accepts returns in new condition for a refund within 60 days of purchase. After 60 days, customers will receive a store credit for the refund.

Customer service is available at 1-866-379-7463. The customer call center is only open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. When we called the automated system (self-service) was available. We were able to check order status or find a store, but we were not able to talk with a representative about returning an item to DSW.
